As a Carpenter at Cass Construction, you will actively participate in the success of high-end residential custom construction projects. You will be responsible for performing any labour, including demolition, carpentry, footings, framing, trim, clean up, and any other work that is necessary to successfully complete the project. You work well with a team of individuals, possess problem solving capabilities, take pride in quality workmanship and customer service. This includes strong communication & listening skills, capable of receiving direction from Lead Carpenter and Construction Manager, and providing guidance to apprentices and labourers.
● Positive attitude, attention to detail, and good communication skills, strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability
● Be able to lay out and install stud wall framing and decking, install standard wall cabinetry and accessories, pre-hung door units and windows, drywall and to properly tape and finish drywall
● Able to do all aspects of finish carpentry, complete small painting projects
● Prepared to work inside and outside regardless the weather
● Have a basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
● Identify and report the need for major repairs
● Be able to understand blueprints, drawings, and written specifications. Understand work orders, change orders and all other job-related documents
● Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
● Anticipate items to maintain work-flow and productivity. Be proactive
● Ensure that the job site is kept in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Install and maintain adequate dust protection. Use tarps and plastic to cover existing finishes as needed. Remove construction
debris as early as feasible.
● Lock and secure the premises at the end of each day before leaving
● Maintain daily contact with Project Manager
● Excellent understanding of rough & finish carpentry methods & techniques
● 5+ years of recent carpentry experience (particularly in residential renovation and construction)
● 2+ Years of project management experience (preferred)
● Experience managing a crew of co-workers / laborers in a construction environment
● 3+ years of experience in driving G class trucks with trailers

Our growing company was founded by Jon Cassaubon on completion of his carpentry training. Starting as just a four-man operation, we now have a team of ten and an extensive network of trusted sub-trades. Our management team’s hands-on experience allows us to eliminate guesswork for our clients, ensuring a smooth, informed process.
Jon founded the company in 2012 with a vision to deliver exceptional craftsmanship and project management, ensuring outstanding communication and transparency for every client. As the owner, Jon personally oversees each project, with a dedication of ensuring that every project reflects the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Cody started with Cass Construction in 2020, after attending Conestoga College for Renovation Technician and completing his red seal in carpentry. Cody also has experience in commercial construction management. He is a valuable member of the team, specializing in project coordination, management and construction. His determination to advocate for clients to meet their design and project needs from start to finish makes him a vital part of Cass Construction.
Lisa joined Cass Construction in 2022 following an already successful career in the construction industry where she worked on projects both in residential and commercial sectors, and taught design at the post-secondary level. Lisa works directly with clients through the design process and through material/product selection for all of our projects from start to finish.
Katie has worked for Cass Construction since 2023 as an office administrator, accounts payable, receivable and payroll. Her organizational skills are vital to keeping everything running smoothly.
Mitch has been part of the Cass Construction team since 2016, following graduation from the Carpentry & Renovation Technician program. As a licensed carpenter, Mitch is all about quality workmanship, a strong work ethic, and a passion for the profession. These have made him a crucial member of the Cass Construction team.
Leah has been employed at Cass Construction since 2023. Leah enjoys working hard and is dedicated to honing her construction skills. She also endeavours to become a licensed carpenter and is working to complete her apprenticeship program with us.
Emiel joined Cass Construction in 2023 as a general labourer. He has a strong interest in the construction trade, with a goal to complete his apprenticeship with Cass Construction. His passion for the industry is evident in his commitment to every project he undertakes.
Kolten joined Cass Construction in 2021 as a general labourer, bringing a steady presence to every project he works on. With a reliable work ethic and a willingness to take on various tasks, Kolten ensures that each job site is maintained and operational. His commitment to consistency makes him a valuable part of our team, supporting our skilled craftsmen and contributing to the overall success of our renovation projects.
